Why do we Cry!!!!

20131003-124125.jpg
It starts with a quivering lip. Or maybe blinking faster and faster to keep the wetness from escaping.

Before you know it, you’re getting teary — again. Then the outburst comes…. With a loud  wailing sound …… Owhaaaa…. Owhaaaa!!!!Heheheeh

I amaze myself sometimes on how easily and often I cry. Happy tears, sad tears, over-the-top tears, Tv commercial tears—you name it, I think I have perfected that skill… Loll…And I ain’t talking about little drops or buckets, I am talking about a monsoon… Lol…

Then the tears that stream down when I hear a powerful message in church or when in deep praise and worship or even when I am in my quiet time meditating… The tears just won’t stop…… 🙂

Hankies up, people, if you’re with me on this… Heheheeh

I always ask myself….What’s behind my crying? Is there something wrong with me? Why do some people cry so much more or less readily than others? And what’s the best way to handle all these tears?

Crying is a natural emotional response to certain feelings, usually sadness and hurt. But then people also cry under other circumstances and occasions…eg the Birth of a child, a graduation, or even when a person is getting married…

My hubby calls me a minister of tears… Because When I start the water works it baffles him so much, He looks over at me, eyes wide with concern, and whispers, “Are you okay?”….. But I know his thoughts are…..*Gosh!!! Why is this girl crying …AGAIN!!! *(Love u bubu xx) Heheheeh… ( I thank God for an understanding husband because me crying can surely be a frustrating episode)

All my life, I thought my tears were a curse, because I couldn’t understand why it was so easy for me to cry. Thus I decided to research and meditate on it.

On my self help journey over the years i started to get a better understanding as to why I was that way. In the process i dedicated my life to God and what started as research, got me closer to my creator and helped me get a better understanding on what was written in my bible……

There is a scripture in the bible that says ‘He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy’ (Psalm 126:6).

My bible also says

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It also says ….

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”~ Psalms 126:5

“Weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning”

Then it hit me , the ”why” of crying may seem obvious and straightforward: You’re happy or sad. But that’s too simplistic. Crying may be a sign you need to address something or you are overwhelmed, frustrated or simply trying to get someone’s attention…

Yes sometimes crying can help release stress… But on the flip side it can cause more stress.

Women tend to cry more often than men, plus people with a history of trauma tend to cry more often than others. But the thing here is that, if you keep on referring back to the past trauma or emotional pain it can and will generate more feelings of hurt…. Then the next unfolds …Deep hurt…. Depression….. Then possibly suicide…in extreme cases…..

In my opinion What I see as the only solution is to… Take into account the physical and psychological causes which could be negative thinking, anger, or even anxiety- (in my own word fear). All that needs to be addressed

My personal solution was ultimately believing that with God all things are possible and that I can’t base my life on emotions, past hurt or pain. In understanding that I got the right key to lockup that jail forever…… (Work in progress)

Phew!!!! My longest blog to date…. I guess I find writing therapeutic…

Plus I guess …this might help someone else..( me included when I read what I have just written)

Try and find your happy place peeps there is so much in life to live for ….Focus on the positives and the negatives will fix itself. xoxo

More rant to come xoxoxo
